KXK210 Tree Shears

KX Collector: The collecting device speeds up the harvesting of energy wood. The collector keeps the cut wood in a grapple and allows up to 20 consecutive cuts.Semi-automatic valve available for the collector.

When selecting the right equipment, keep the following factors in mind:

Excavator Weight: Ensure the shear is compatible with your excavator's weight for optimal performance.

Excavator PSI and Flow: All shears must operate within a pressure range of 3625-4351 PSI, with the KX210 being an exception at 2900-4351 PSI. The flow rate should be between 9.25 and 24 gallons per minute. Note that required oil flow varies by model, but PSI specifications remain consistent (except for the 210). Operating below the minimum PSI can prevent the shear from cutting through the full diameter of the tree, and incorrect pressure may cause the blade to become wedged in material.

Hydraulic Circuits: Check how many hydraulic circuits your machine has, as this affects compatibility.

Diverter Valve Requirements: If a diverter valve is necessary, determine whether your operating machine uses a 12V or 24V battery. A 12V battery may cause sluggish performance with a 24V diverter valve.

Installation Preferences: Are you a do-it-yourselfer, or would you prefer everything set up upon arrival?

When setting up your KX Tree Shear, keep the following in mind:

Pin Compatibility: KX provides some compatible pins for various excavators, but you may need to weld additional pins and ears to a base plate. You can do this yourself or take it to a welding shop. The correct size nuts and bolts will be included with the base plate.

Diverter Valves: A diverter valve is needed to split one hydraulic circuit into two. If your excavator already has two circuits installed, you won't need a diverter. Make sure to mount it in a safe location to avoid snagging on branches, which can cause hydraulic lines to burst.

Diverter Kit: We plan to offer an optional diverter kit, which will include all the necessary fittings to connect the valve to your hydraulic lines. Note that these fittings are BSPP (British Standard Parallel Pipe) from Finland, which are not common in the U.S. If you want to handle the fittings yourself, we can provide a bare diverter valve.

Collector Use: If you only have one circuit, you will also need a diverter valve for the Collector.
